The Dizzy Gillespie All-Stars, under the direction of Gillespie alumnus/executive director/producer/bassist John Lee, delight audiences around the world with the enduring power and freshness of Dizzy Gillespie’s music. In honor of Dizzy’s 100th birthday, this group of extraordinary musicians – who exemplify Dizzy’s style, range, passion, and commitment – perform for The Nash’s 5th Anniversary in 2 shows, with the added attraction of vocalist Roberta Gambarini honoring the 100th birthday of Ella Fitzgerald.

October is a month-long celebration of the 5th Anniversary of The Nash! The crown jewels of the celebration are tributes to Dizzy Gillespie and Ella Fitzgerald in honor of their 100th birthdays, featuring world-renowned artists Roberta Gambarini, Roy Hargrove, Sharel Cassity, Cyrus Chestnut, John Lee and Lewis Nash, plus a Big Band Show with Darcy James Argue, and a special Nash Members Only event with Canadian saxophone master Cory Weeds. Also in the month of October at The Nash: Emmet Cohen, Banda Magda, Francine Reed, Dmitri Matheny and many more great artists – plus special access for Patron Badge Holders to 2 shows at MIM Music Theater: Danilo Perez “PanaMonk” (in honor of Thelonious Monk’s 100th birthday) and Regina Carter “Simply Ella.” WOW!
