Although his career was tragically cut short, trumpeter Clifford Brown left a lasting legacy upon the jazz world. Join us for special evening to pay tribute to one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century, as we explore his legacy from his first recordings on the Blue Note record label through his final quintet with drummer Max Roach. Several of Clifford’s compositions will be featured as well as music by Harold Land, Elmo Hope, Gigi Gryce and Richie Powell.

David Paonessa is a pianist from Phoenix, AZ.  His interest in music started at young age playing trumpet in school band.  After high school David attended Mesa Community College and Arizona State University, studying with acclaimed pianists Nick Manson and Mike Kocour.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies in 2015.  He can be found playing and teaching regularly throughout the valley of the sun.
