The Pete Swan Quartet is a group made up of: Brice Winston saxophone: Angelo Versace piano; Scott Black bass; and Pete Swan drums. Each member of the ensemble has performed with a who’s who of great jazz artists. Besides a busy performance schedule, the members of the quartet are also deeply involved with jazz education. Brice Winston and Scott Black are co-founders of the nationally acclaimed Tucson Jazz Institute that has multiple top finishes in the Essentially Ellington Competition. Angelo Versace is the Director of Jazz at the University of Arizona. Pete Swan is an instructor at TjI, and just received a Jazz Hero Award from the Jazz Journalists Association for promoting jazz in the Tucson community. The quartet has a broad range of musical influences that combine in unique ways in every performance. The quartet plays every Sunday at a club in Tucson and is excited to have the opportunity to perform at the Nash, one of the premier jazz venues in the country.
