Bill Moio-guitar, Todd Johnson-bass, Dom Moio-drums

Savvy locals know that this is the band to hear for smokin’ hot guitar trio music. Don’t miss this opportunity to check out this trio at The Nash! The group will be playing some cool arrangements of Jazz standards and also some originals of Bill’s.

Bill Moio has performed with legendary soul band Tower of Power. He has also appeared with and or recorded with many jazz and contemporary artists including, Joe Diorio, organ greats Joey DeFrancesco and Tony Monaco, David Garibaldi, Marc Russo, Khani Cole, Frank Sinatra Junior, Jack Wilkins and Sheryl Bailey to name a few. Two of his compositions are featured in Mel Bay’s “2000 Jazz Guitar,” an anthology of solos by the world’s finest jazz guitarists. Bill has also released two CDs with his brother, drummer Dom Moio, bassist Warren Jones and pianist Armand Boatman with the Phoenix Jazz Quartet and has appeared on numerous recordings for other artists.

Todd Johnson is recognized as a pioneer of the six-string electric bass. With his Zon signature model six-string bass, Todd has developed an innovative technique where he plays chord changes and bass lines simultaneously, plus his ability to play “chord melody” gives him an uniquely rich and fuller sound that proves extremely useful in both solo and small combo work. He has performed and/or recorded with other such artists as Ron Eschete, Kristin Korb, Mike Stern, Poncho Sanchez, Frank Potenza, Dave Weckl, Scott Henderson, Plas Johnson, Lew Tabackin, Jack Sheldon, Rufus Reid, Mundell Lowe, Michael Manring, Paul Humphrey, and Frank Gambale.

Dom Moio has played with jazz luminaries such as Mose Allison, Herb Ellis, Ahmad Jamal and Clark Terry. He also had the opportunity to meet and study with legendary Cuban Master Percussionist Walfredo de los Reyes Sr. Among his frequent record dates, Moio has recorded two CDs with Jazz great Carl Fontana. He also recorded with The Jazz Nonet with Chuck Marohnic and Greg Hopkins. Moio also keeps a busy schedule traveling as a clinician for Trick Drums, Latin Percussion, Evans Drum Heads, Calato/Regal Tip Drumsticks and Sabian Cymbals.
