Fred Forney – trumpet/flugelhorn, Bill Moio – guitar, Chris Finet – bass, Dom Moio – drums

Valley trumpeter and educator, Fred Forney, brings his “Arizona Cool Quartet” to the Nash, in time for the seasonal temperature change.  The music is reminiscent of the New York and LA Cool style jazz;  Chet Baker, Jim Hall, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, etc.  Special arrangements from George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and everything from Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, to hip hop and originals, will be the fare for this special evening of music.  The modernist 1940s jazz mood will be anchored by virtuoso guitarist, Bill Moio joined by Chris Finet – bass and Dom Moio – drums.

Fred Forney has played with a long list of who’s who in the music word, from Tony Bennett to Dionne Warwick, toured with Bobby Caldwell and played with David Friesen, Bob Minzter, Ernie Watts and other jazz greats, in addition to his tenure as jazz faculty at Mesa Community College.
